Kiss Me at Midnight

Kiss Me at Midnight

The magic time is midnight…just like in Cinderella.  We celebrate by saying goodbye to yester-year and saying hello to the New Year.

Whether a year is considered happy or sad good or bad, the year’s past will always have memories that are to be cherished.  As a photographer, many beautiful images were created.  What took me to the locations where I capture the photographs was how those memories were made.  I want to share a few of them with you with perhaps a few of the memories.

Life should always be celebrated and for me it was. 2018 was a beautiful year beginning with gathering for my ‘Winter White Wonderland’ party to  traveling from the west coast of California to the east coast and the mountains of North Carolina and most places in-between. Ken and I traveled  to Sedona to  photograph not only the blue moon, but the super moon as it was called with an added treat to the mix with an eclipse the night of my birthday.  What a treat that was!  Sedona is special to me because of the spirituality of the land and the beautiful blue sky.  This is a memory that will always be cherished.

What better way to celebrate life than with  music and friends. I travel to California a great deal and one band that has become dear to my heart is Bill Magee Blues Band, a legend in his own right having started out with Jimi Hendrix back in the day.  Living in  San Diego, he told me once that he would love to play at Antone’s Nightclub in Austin. With his Chicago-style blues, I am positive Antone’s would love to have him play as well. No matter the day of week, one can always find live music here in this capital city of Texas.  There are several bands we enjoy listening to and always try to find musicians we haven’t heard yet.   Between the likes of Allan and LaDonna, The Pearl Snaps,  Reid Umstattd (The Voice) and others, you just can’t go wrong seeking live music in and around our music city.

FAMILY, FRIENDS & YOU:  There is nothing more important that those you love, including yourself.    I would like to leave you with these thoughts to ponder as you go into this new year.

Love your life and take photos of everything.  Talk to random strangers and do things you are scared to do.  Listen to the music that nature offers us. Live your life to the fullest by waking up on Monday mornings with no complaints.  Know that you can laugh out loud for no reason at all because you deserve to do so.  Living life is about being yourself and doing what you want to do even if it looks strange to someone else.  Chances are you will never see that person again.   If you only touched one soul, you will know you have made a contribution to life when you leave this world.   Take your life and make it the best story in the world!  MOST IMPORTANTLY, tell someone ‘Kiss Me At Midnight’.

Here’s a few photos from moments in my life in 2018…If you enjoyed this post, please SHARE because SHARING is CARING!.
